LSNC welcomed the Girl Scout Program this past December. What began as a summer workshop about Girl Scouting led by Heather Reine of GSUSA resulted in the formation of three troops by the end of last year; Daisy troop 3410, Brownie troop 3411 and Junior Girl Scouts troop 3415.

Each Girl Scout level has various activities and tasks to complete and memorize in order to move through the unit to the next level up. Juniors are fourth and fifth graders.
The Daisy Girl Scouts, kindergarten and first graders, very first activity was to learn about soil and seeds, and plant their first flower. The Plant Hero, a horticultural consultant, came and worked with the girls to complete and understand planting and growing flowers.
The first major task for the Brownies, second and third graders, was a service project. The girls voted to help improve the community through a park clean up. The Juniors, fourth and fifth graders are currently in the process of picking their activity so stay tuned!
The LSNC Girl Scouts held their very first INVESTITURE CEREMONY on February 3, 2011 whereby new Girl Scouts are welcomed in to scouting by reciting the girl scout promise, receiving their commitment pins and giving the official handshake.
All three troops participated in the Girl Scout cookie sale this year to raise funds for their troops and collectively sold over 2,100 boxes!!!
LSNC girl scouts meet bi-weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (Daisy, Brownie and Juniors respectively). There are a total of 25 girl scouts in our program.
